A number of ruined buildings on the former Spring Garden estate clearly date to the period of estate activity in sugar cane production, around the time Thomas Wedderburn.'s son John was in charge. There are the remains of a spring fed irrigation system (see photo below), hence the name "Spring Garden". There are other related structures i.e. aqueducts, a  waterwheelhouse etc., but in overgrown and dilapidated condition.

'Gutter Walk' is one of the few remaining reminders of the estate as it was in John Wedderburn's day. It once formed part of the irrigation system which led from the spring.
